Baguio (Descriptive Essay)

Baguio
Have you heard the place called Baguio? It is the summer capital of the Philippines. It is located in Northern Luzon. Baguio is one of the most visited tourist destinations here in the Philippines. You know why? I'm going to describe it to you.
Baguio is called the summer capital of the Philippines because during summer, Baguio can give you the cold and cool breeze to beat the summer heat. Places like Camp John Hay and Philippine Military Academy will give you a perfect description of nature: a calm and serene environment, trees and plants thriving all around the place, the relaxing ambiance, and the cool breeze caressing your skin. Mount Santo Tomas will bring out the adventurer in you. The thrilling downhill slopes will excite you, and the enormous mountains and thick fog make the scenic view a breath-taking moment to enjoy. Mines View Park also offers that same feeling. Fresh air and a beautiful view of the plains and mountains in front of you.                Overall, Baguio is one of the most wonderful cities in the Philippines, maybe even in the world. That is why you can never run out of words to describe this incredibly wonderful place.

Santiago (Persuasive Essay)

Miriam Santiago

The Presidential Candidate that got me and my parent’s attentions was Miriam Defensor. Since I was little, I asked my parents on why they wished for her to, someday. Run for president?

Apparently, they told me that she’s a graduate of UP. She even won an award. The Ramon Magsaysay Award for government Service and the 1985 TOYM Award for Law. She even finished the B.A. Political Science, as her course for only three and a half years. However, she decided to remain in the university for an additional semester and finished her course with an almost perfect grade of 1.1 (1.0 is considered highest.) She graduated magna cum laude in 1965. And many more fascinating stories and achievements are yet to be told in this essay.

The funny thing for me is that my parents were so fascinated by her achievements, that they told me that she might be an alien. So you see, this country needs some genius who is also not afraid to stand for what is right. I think I’ve made my point already clear. Vote for Miriam Defensor!

Duterte (Persuasive Essay)

Duterte

The Halalan 2016 is on and we start to think if the changes that we desire will come into life this moment. And as an answer to that question we need to choose wisely who will be the right one to be on the Presidential place. And for me, the Presidential Candidate that I deem worthy enough to be the next President of our country is Rodrigo Duterte.

He is one of the longest serving mayors in the Philippines. Having been the Mayor of Davao City for 7 terms, totaling more than 22 years. And with a long time of serving Davao City, he transformed it into a very safe and well-organized place. Unlike many politicians, Duterte is forthright and plain speaking. Duterte was also dubbed as “The Punisher” by the media and was heavily criticized by people because of his ways as a leader. As he has no mercy in executing the criminals that he caught and he is also very strict in implementing the rules. He was also heavily criticized for being a womanizer and very vulgar with the words that he use when being interviewed. But despite the attitude that he displays, he’s still the number one Presidential Candidate.
As many of our fellow Filipino thinks that his strict and serious leadership skills are what the country needs in order to fight crimes and corruption in our government. Well, I too think that Duterte is one of the best Presidential Candidates out there. I’d rather choose someone who is true to himself and is dedicated to fighting crimes and wrong doings, with a proof of his great leadership skills. Rather than choosing someone who’s acting like a Saint in front of the mass to gain the sympathy of the people with their lies and broken promises.

The News (Reflective Essay)

News

The news is not just for us to be updated or to be aware, but also to allow each and everyone to exercise their freedom of speech. It is to make a movement in helping the country in times of trials. But now, how would you know if the news you have read or heard is a fact? What is the effective way of bringing the news to satisfy our countrymen?
To begin, as Mass Communication and Psychology student, it is very important that we have enough knowledge about the past and current news that had and has happened in our country. News can be delivered in so many ways. Like, print media or in television since we already enhanced our technology. News composes of ads and a lot of information about our country. The news is a medium of how to inform the people of what was, what is and what will happen to our nation.
In fact, When we read, hear or watch the news, we already believe it because, for us, the news is as important as gold. News sometimes and somehow not a fact, it’s not just telling about the country itself, but also the celebrities that are in. Their lifestyle and career, in this case, a lot of gossip controversies are popping. This news or this media can affect and influence millions of people. That is how big the media role is. It can save lives, it can cure diseases, and it can help calamities and many more. Magazines, newspapers, television, radio and even in social networking sites are very helpful to keep us aware. News and media are everywhere.
The effective way to bring the news is, you just have to know it, belief in it, trust the person who is delivering the news, and be powerful and confident that the news you are about to say, is a hundred percent true. Always keep it in our mind that whatever happens, whatever is ahead, it will be part of our history. Delivering news, either bad or good news, will really affect the people because every human being has a part of understanding the happenings in the real world. It is important to deliver news in a simple way which people can merely understand and spread it to other people so that they are consciously aware of the non-stop circumstances in the country.
Therefore, news can be in television, newspaper, magazine, radio, and the internet. No individuals don't know any news because every media will deliver and distribute news everywhere, to people have an awareness of what’s happening inside the country and in other countries as well. The various forms of media spread and disseminate information to people. Getting information into the media will spread the story further than it could be spread without media coverage. Media is the only effective way of bringing the news to everyone.  It helps to promote the right things on right time. It gives a real exposure to the mass audience about what is right or wrong. The news is as important as gold and as important as life. We won’t be able to resolve past problems that our country has been through if it weren't for the people. Media is nothing without our people. And people's knowledge isn't enough without the news.

The Barber (Narrative Essay)

"Sometimes there are things we can not see that lead us not to believe, but if you remembered what John 20:20 says " Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." But here's a short story that can open your mind about believing in our Almighty God. As what John says in Chapter 20 Verse 20 *
One day a priest visited a barbershop for a haircut. All of the barbers are glad and excited for the priest. After his haircut, he thanked all of them for the warm welcome, but before he leaves one of the barbers shared that he doesn't believe in God. The priest quickly asked the barber with curiosity how it happened and why. The barber thinks that if there's such thing as God, why would people perish and face everyday problem in life if they can just live life with joy instead. The shop was covered with silenceUntil the priest tell to the barber that he has a point on his thoughts. The priest left the shop quietly. He was bothered by his way outside until he found someone A boy with a very long hair and a beard. He smiled and bring the boy inside the barbershop. He talked to the barber with joyful tone. Telling that the priest doesn't believe in a barber also. The barber laughed so loud while asking the priest that If there is no barber, then why the priest go over to his Barbershop. The priest explained that if there's such thing as Barber then there are no people with long hair like this boyThe barber is against with the priest beliefs and Telling to the priest that it is people’s problem, People have a choice if they want to Cut off their hair or just let it grow longer.
And that is exactly the same thing as what you think about God. You can feel the presence of God if you really Want and if you really faith in Him. People have a choice If they will believe in God.

One Cut Cross (Instructive Essay)

Faith in God means we rely on him and depend on his reliability. Genuine faith is relying on God's direction and on who he is. But I tell you, that there are people who don't believe that God died for us, so there’s no reason to have faith in Him. But would you believe that there’s one man who proves that having faith with God is worth it. I have a short story for all of you before we start our activity.

There was a man who was put into the prison for his faith in Jesus. The interrogator tells him that he will not be killed if he can make a cross using a piece of paper in just one cut, so the man prayed all night and ask for His guidance, the man wasn’t allowed to practice. Then the next day, he was brought before the interrogator. The man asked for the paper and he was began folding, right after that he asked for scissors. He made one cut, and there, in the pieces, was a cross.

So did I made your curious on how the man did the one cut cross? Well if that so, we may now start our activity, but before we start, you should have the materials man used too - one piece of bond paper and scissors. If you already have the materials then we can start now.

The first step is to fold the top left corner down to the edge of the paper, forming a triangle and after that fold the top right corner down, now you can see that it looks like a house with a pitched roof.

Next is fold in half along a vertical line and fold in half vertically again.

And the final step is called “ cutting “ where you will cut along the vertical line.

Unfortunately, we think we know better. We think we have a better plan. We want to use our logic and get to the answer in a way that makes us look good and doesn’t require risk. But God wants us to grow, so he takes us a different way.

Boracay (Descriptive Essay)

“Top of the world” have you listened or hear of it by the carpenters where they tell us how great the creation of this world and the places that can see that you can be fascinated but if where to compare or describe a plus where I can link this song I choose the Boracay island and it's very beautiful and a really good of vacation place and it has the great scenery and view.

Boracay is one of top-class beaches and tourist destination in the Philippines in the country.  Where you can see the dazzling sun from endless sky even though it's hot but it is really perfect for the place and the sand when you step on it you can feel the little tiny like bids on your feet like a refined powder that it is white us the clouds in the sky and in the ocean where it is clear as the diamond stone where you can see the seaside floor and as if yours looking in window  the wind that touches your skin as if it is kissing you and the smell of the salty sea on the breeze of the wind and the place is full of people of every country and as the sun goes down and so the sky changes the color of it. It turns into a color on a color palette that a lot of colors are mixed together with vibrant color of orange and on sea where you can see on the horizon the reflection of a giant orange ball as it goes down like as it is going to sleep under the ocean and as soon the night falls and the moon arise. And the breeze changes into a warm and comfortable feeling and you can see the million of stars shining in the vast sky as if can think how great the creator did this

What I can all say is that when you visit the Boracay island is like your are viewing one of the masterpiece created by God and how the place can be fascinating to look and how the place can make you comfortable.

Cinema (Descriptive Essay)

Cinema

When I was young, I love to listen to stories before I go to sleep. I also love to watch movies whether it is animated or not. My most love type of movie is comedy and adventure. But today I also want to watch romance and horror movies. It is more fun to watch the movie when you and your loved ones will go to the cinema to watch a movie. Now, I want to share with you the place called cinema and the things that I see around here.
You know television right? In cinema, there is a very large screen and many chairs in a very dark room. Inside of a cinema, it is divided into two, the first one is the lower part which is at the front and the second half is much high which is located behind the lower part of the cinema. The cinema has many speakers side-to-side and it is cold inside. While you are in a cinema, sometimes you can smell the popcorn and you can hear when somebody is talking while watching. In a case of emergency, there are two fire exits on each side of the middle section.

Many months have passed since the last time I have watched in a cinema. Right now I want to go in cinema and watch a movie together with my family and with my friends. Cinema is the place where you can relax watching a good movie with your loved ones.

Isdaan (Descriptive Essay)

Isdaan

Isdaan is a place that took the definition of the restaurant to a whole new level. A floating restaurant that take customers into a different world. That's how I define Isdaan Floating Restaurant of Calauan, Laguna. Though Isdaan Floating Restaurant is a Thailand inspired place, with all those larger than life statues of Buddhas, little monks, and mermaids, they still managed to incorporate a touch of Filipino culture through their food. Yup, they serve to appetizer Filipino food here. By the way, another site of Isdaan is located in the northern part of Luzon - Gerona, Tarlac. They have the same vibe so it will be just a matter of how close you are on these two sites in terms of deciding on which branch you're going to pick and visit. As we reach Isdaan Floating Restaurant, my initial reaction was astounded. I can't help myself as my eyes went wide because of amusement on the beauty of this restaurant. I have already seen this place on the internet and photos but still, I was blown away of its architectural design as well as how artistic this place was built and constructed.
One of the highlights of this place is the entrance as you come in the place. You will be walking in between tall statues. This gives visitors a feel like they're not in the Philippines anymore. Under your feet is a pond because you are also walking above a bamboo trail since this is a floating restaurant. The whole place is a large fish pond. One can do fishing in which they can ask the staff of Isdaan to cook their catches. Aside from the very South East Asian vibe of the place, it has an impressive Fiesta atmosphere which is very Filipino in a sense. There are bands that serenade each nipa hut, performers, and actors that perform acrobatic stunts and other extraordinary talents. It is a happy place. Everyone will definitely have a good time when they visit Isdaan Floating Restaurant. Isdaan didn't forget the interest of the kids. Bikes and trolleys for children are available which can be rented. They also installed statues of cartoon characters, animals and other personalities that will surely love by kids and kids alike (like me and my parents). These include angry birds, Batman, Pres. Barack and a lot more.
Actually, I and my parents felt like we were foreign tourists inland of Thailand during our stay in Isdaan. Mermaid Buddhas were everywhere in Isdaan and they're more than life-sized statues. In addition, to this are the bamboo pathways and cottages which add flavor and makes Isdaan more to be like ancient Thailand. we were then directed to our cottage. We've given a small but cute nipa hut that can accommodate up to 4 persons but since we were only 2 on this trip it was more than enough for us. Then the waiter hand over us their menu... a long list of menu. It was as long as 3 sheets of long bond paper and it is written back to back containing their list of foods. We had a hard time picking what food to eat because there were a bunch to choose from. I also noticed that their target clients are family and groupies because their servings come in bundles or in kilos.

Why Teenagers Hook Up Watching Anime (Reflective Essay)

ANIME
“Boredom is not the lack of sensory stimulation: it is just a lack of imagination or creative thinking”. So, teenagers tend to watch anime more often and surf the internet to read online manga. I am also a teenager and I love watching anime so I wonder what the reasons why teenagers hook up watching anime are.

Nowadays, being hooked up in watching is very rampant especially among teenagers. There are a lot of factors why teenagers are being urged to watch anime. First, anime itself serves as a great factor the leads the teenagers to watch, because anime became the latest trend for teenagers and has a good storyline that makes the teenagers hook up. One example of good anime with a good storyline is ‘One Piece’ and did you that One Piece is now on episode 722! Yes, it is true if you don’t know this anime you can search it on the internet. Secondly is due to cool animation, which has a vibrant color that tickles their eyes every time they watch a single episode. Anime today is very fancy, it means the animation or graphics is very cool, compare to 10 years ago, so the teenagers are being hooked up. The third one is peer pressure, which influences a person to watch anime when your group is exposed to anime it will surely influence you. Last is boredom buster. Many teenagers are doing nothing in their free time so they tend to watch anime.

Honestly, I am grateful that I am part of this generation because of the advanced technology that provides everything we need, like for entertainment, the anime. Now we know that teenagers hook up watching anime because first, anime that has a good storyline will make teenagers to watch. It is also due to cool animation and peer pressure, which influences a person to watch anime. Last is boredom buster.

Progress In 3D Multimedia (Reflective Essay)

MULTIMEDIA
We are in a world where modern technology evolves. And I wonder about what if this technology evolves more advance. Now, we literally experience a heavy change that brought by this scenario and many people from different countries experience the effects of this. Movie world and even television or news program take this opportunity to level up the wildness of showing video on the screen. We are now able to feel, hear and see like we are on the movie itself. But I wonder how it will look like if we continue to advance this beyond what we already achieve and move further more until we meet our satisfaction. So, I want to take you on an adventure that will lead you to the progress in 3D Multimedia but before that, I would like to thank Wikipedia for this history. Now, sit back, relax, wear your glasses, turn off the light and let this play on.
2D to 3D Conversion

First, the 2D to 3D Conversion. In the case of 2D films that were generated from 3D models (as with CGI animated films), it is possible to return to the models to generate a 3D version. For other 2D films, different techniques must be employed. For example, for the 3D re-release of the 1993 film The Nightmare Before Christmas, Walt Disney Pictures scanned each original frame and manipulated them to produce left-eye and right eye versions. In 2011, Disney became the first studio to convert 2D hand-drawn animation to 3D with the 1994 film The Lion King, and the 1991 film Beauty and the Beast. Dozens of films have now been converted from 2D to 3D. There are several approaches used for 2D to 3D conversion, most notably depth-based methods.
Live-action

Second, the Live-action. The standard for shooting live-action films in 3D involve using two cameras mounted so that their lenses are about as far apart from each other as the average pair of human eyes, recording two separate images for both the left eye and the right eye. In principle, two normal 2D cameras could be put side-to-side, but this is problematic in many ways. The only real option is to invest in new stereoscopic cameras. Moreover, some cinematographic tricks that are simple with a 2D camera become impossible when filming in 3D. This means those otherwise cheap tricks need to be replaced by expensive CGI. for example, Oz the Great and Powerful. In 2008, Journey to the Center of the Earth became the first live-action feature film to be shot with the earliest Fusion Camera System released in Digital 3D. This film was later followed by several other films shot in Live-action. The 2009 release of Avatar was shot in a 3D process that is based on how the human eye looks at an image. It was an improvement to a currently existing 3D camera system. Many 3D camera rigs still in use, simply pair two cameras side by side, while newer rigs are paired with a beam splitter or both camera lens built into one unit. Digital Cinema cameras are not really required for 3D but are the predominant medium 99% of what is photographed. Film options include IMAX 3D and Cine 160.
Animation

Third, the Animation. CGI animated films can be rendered as the stereoscopic 3D version by using two virtual cameras. Because the entire movie is basically a 3D model, it only takes twice the rendering time and a little effort to properly set up stereoscopic views. In 2004, The Polar Express was the first stereoscopic 3D computer animated feature film. In November 2005, Walt Disney Studio Entertainment released Chicken Little in digital 3D format. The first 3D feature by DreamWorks Animation Monsters vs Aliens followed in 2009 and used a new digital rendering process called InTru3D which is a process developed by Intel to create more realistic 3D images despite the fact that they are animated. InTru3D is not a way that films are exhibited in theaters in 3D, the films created in this process are seen in either RealD 3D or IMAX 3D.
Video Games

Fourth, the Video Games. In June 1986, Sega released the Sega Master System, part of the third generation of gaming consoles. The system had a card slot that provided power to a single pair of LCD shutter glasses, allowing certain games to be viewed in 3D; however, only 8 3D-compatible games were ever released, and when the system was redesigned in 1990 in order to cut down on manufacturing costs, it lost the ability to support 3D. It was the first known electronic device released in North America to use LCD shutter glasses. In July 1995, Nintendo released the Virtual Boy, built around a 3D viewer held closely to the users' eyes, acting like a pair of goggles. Both left and right eye images were red and put a strain on players' eyes; the system was a failure and was discontinued the following year. In December 2008, several third party developers for the PlayStation 3 announced they would work toward bringing Stereoscopic 3D gaming to major gaming consoles using their own technology. In the coming months, both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 will be capable of 3D imaging via 3D TV and system/hardware updates. On June 15, 2010, at the E3 Expo, Nintendo unveiled the Nintendo 3DS, the successor to the Nintendo DS series of handheld consoles. It is the first gaming console to allow 3D viewing without the need for 3D glasses or an equivalent.
Television

Fifth, the Television. After the unexpected box office success of Avatar and a record number of 20 3D films released in 2009, TV manufacturers saw the demand for 3DTVs go up dramatically and went further into research and development. Samsung launched the first 3D TV in February 2010. Each TV manufacturer would make their own 3D glasses. Samsung released a 3D starter kit which included the purchase of 3 items with a discount at select retailers; the starter kit would include a Samsung model 3D TV, a Samsung brand 3D-capable Blu-ray3D player, and a box with two pairs of Samsung brand 3D glasses which included an exclusive 3D Blu-ray edition of Monsters vs. Aliens. Specifications for 3D also include the HDMI 1.4a standards. Some of these TVs can also convert 2D into 3D, but such features are limited as to how much depth can be generated. In June 2010, Panasonic announced Coraline and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs as bonus 3D Blu-ray titles with the purchase of any of their 3DTVs. On June 22, 2010, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs became the first 3D Blu-ray title to be released without any requirements to buy any new electronic hardware but free copies of this title will be included in 3D entertainment packages by Sony. In 2010, the only option was active shutter glasses and in 2011, TV manufacturers, notably LG and Vizio will offer passive circular polarized glasses in mid to late 2011 as well as Sony to offer glasses-free technology for 3D content. In 2015, Samsung unveiled an 8K display with glasses-free 3D making it the largest 3D TV and the highest resolution to date.
Home Video

Sixth, the Home Video. Several DVD and Blu-ray releases have already tried their hands at releasing the 3D versions of films by using an anaglyph format. One noted release prior to the advent of digital cinema is the 1982 film Friday the 13th: Part 3 in 3D but other such films actually shot digitally like Coraline were released on DVD and Blu-ray. Both included 2D and 3D versions and both were packaged with pairs of 3D glasses. The Blu-ray Association ordered a new standard for presenting 3D content on Blu-ray that would also be Backwards Compatible with all 2D displays. In December 2009, it was announced that they had adopted the Multiview Video Codec, which would be playable in all Blu-ray disc players even if they could not generate a 3D image. The codec contains information that is readable on a 2D output plus additional information that can only be read on a 3D output and display. A future extension for 4K Blu-ray 3D is currently in development for the HEVC codec.
Broadcasting

Seventh, the Broadcasting. In 2008, the BBC broadcast the world's first live sporting event in 3D, transmitting an England vs. Scotland rugby match to a London cinema. On April 3, 2010, Sky TV broadcast a Chelsea vs. Manchester United that matches around 1,000 pubs in the U.K. ESPN 3D launched on June 11, 2010. On July 1, 2010, N3D became the world's first 24-hour 3D channel. 25 matches of in the 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament were broadcast in 3D.

In conclusion, 3D Multimedia are advancing at a huge pace. Progress on several fronts is being presented, and significant enhancements are being achieved in areas of 3D displays, 3D audio, free viewpoint synthesis, 3D virtual environments, 3D collaboration and many others. We expect this area to be very dynamic for the next several years, finishing with a persistent 3D displays and environments. We have some exciting years ahead, are you ready for that? Because we are not yet done.

How to do Tim Hardaway Crossover (Instructive Essay)

Allex Iverson doing the crossover
The Killer crossover! He is left behind, no match. You probably heard that shouted the last time you were at the ball game. Throughout the world, people play basketball every day. Basketball is more than 100 years now since it is invented by James Naismith. As the time has passed, basketball today has evolved with new moves. One of the famous moves in basketball is called cross-over; the basic mechanics of crossover has five steps.
The first step is you have to keep your stance low, bend your knees until your hands can touch your knees so you can have your balance.
The second step is you have to dribble the ball between your legs right side. Remember you have to catch the ball with your right hand after you dribble the ball between your legs.
The third step is when you dribble the ball between your legs; you have to stretch your leg lower. Your right leg must face right direction and your left leg must also stretch like you are going to kneel.
And the fourth step is you have to sell it with your eyes. It is much more effective when you are looking to the direction where you are faking, you can also add arms swing off your hand but it is not necessary.
The final step is the cross over to the other direction. After you dribble the ball between your legs to the right side, dribble it quick to the left side and blow defender with full speed. Former and NBA Player Tim Hardaway Sr.  Invented this crossover move and today you can see players are using it.
Perhaps the next time you play basketball, you can use to cross your defender and make buckets. Even If you’re not a basketball player, you will know and learn the art of crossover that every player is doing.

The one who touched her butterfly is her son. And the only way to break this curse is to show a true love act. It is too late because His son is already in a deep coma. But there is no other choice to set her son free.
Erald (Black Witch's Son)

She is so desperate that she intended to sacrifice herself for her son. In the end, she died with a smile on her face. A proof that she now learns to forgive her husband even she never has a chance to be with her son. It became part of their history, that once in his life He felt a true love that he long for over a million years ago. His mother is willing to let him experience the love that even though it becomes the reason why her heart filled with guilt for so long is still the reason why she want her son
Erald when healed
to live again. In no certain reason, love still conquers all. Whatever happened in the past will never hinder the future. Any form of hindrances will never overcome love. Always remember “there are still so many reasons to live in love”.
